Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy, compared to many other therapeutic modalities, has significant research backing it’s effectiveness. Shockwave works to stimulate the bodies healing process by sending waves of energy into the soft tissues which results in improved circulation and increased cell metabolism, which can help with the repair of injured tissues. Research shows great effectiveness for a number of injuries such as, but not limited to plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, retrocalcaneal bursitis, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, calcific tendonitis of the rotator cuffs, patellar tendonitis, etc. Mild discomfort or pulses can be felt on the skin during shockwave treatments, but no major discomfort should occur.
